P/T GROUP FACILITATOR
​for Santa Barbara, Lompoc and Santa Maria

​​We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate group counselor to join our team. As a counselor, you will provide a 2-hour group to Domestic Violence offenders in Santa Maria and Lompoc, CA.  If you are passionate about making a positive impact in people's lives, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
- Facilitate weekly 2-hour groups in Lompoc and/or Santa Maria, CA
- Provide psych-education with 26 week program curriculum S.T.O.P addressing anger management skills, family dynamics and relationships.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns
- Collaborate with program director to coordinate comprehensive care for clients
- Provide case management services to ensure clients have access to necessary resources and support

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Experience in facilitating groups
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Empathy and compassion for individuals facing personal challenges
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal guidelines

You will shadow seasoned facilitators for three months to acquire 100 training hours in groups.

REQUIRED TRAINING:
You will be required to have these two trainings completed within the year.

  1. 40HR Domestic Violence Virtual (at your own pace) SIGN UP

  2. S.T.O.P Curriculum: Treating Domestic Violence in the 21st Century Virtual live  SIGN UP

            Thurs-Fri Jun 20-21, 2024  and  Thurs-Fri Jun 27-28, 2024 (must attend all)


You will shadow seasoned facilitators for three months to acquire 100 training hours in groups.

MUST HAVE:

  • M.A minimum in PSY or Social Work or Addiction counseling certificate. You will be required to show your degree certification.
  • 16 Domestic Violence related Ceus (can be acquired over the year)
  • Professional Liability Insurance (low cost quote here). You will be required to show proof of insurance.
  • Own vehicle, computer/laptop. 
  • Group facilitation experience (1 year min)
  • Be computer savvy (Excel, text, email, cloud exchange)
